Welcome to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Papumpare District
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Papum Pare is located at Karsingsa along National Highway 52A, between Banderdewa—the entry point to Arunachal Pradesh—and Itanagar, the state capital. Spread across about 20 hectares, the campus is well-defined and secured with a boundary wall, creating a dedicated space for agricultural learning, research, and outreach activities.
The Kendra has basic yet functional infrastructure, including a centrally located administrative building and demonstration units for horticulture, poultry, and fodder. It also maintains field plots where different farming techniques and technologies are tested under real conditions. These setups help farmers see practical applications and better understand improved methods of cultivation and livestock management.
Even with limited resources, KVK Papum Pare continues to work closely with farmers through a community-driven approach. It actively engages farmer groups, understands their needs through Training Needs Assessment (TNA), and provides solutions that are practical and relevant to local conditions.
Through regular training programmes, field demonstrations, and exposure visits, the Kendra helps farmers learn and adopt modern agricultural practices. Its efforts are focused on improving productivity, building skills, and supporting sustainable livelihoods for the farming community in the region.
